The maximum amount one can receive is that of €900, between the months of October and June (maximum of €100 per month during these months).   However, the actual amount is calculated as per following:

If the student is renting the accommodation by him/herself for at least €400 per month, the student will receive the maximum of €100 per month for the months indicated above.  If the student’s rent is less than €400 per month, the subsidy will be calculated pro rata and therefore the subsidy will be less.

If the student is renting the accommodation with another person (therefore there are two persons sharing the accommodation) for at least €250 per month each (i.e. total rent paid is €500), the student will receive the maximum of €100 per month for the months indicated above. If the each student’s rent is less than €250 per month, the subsidy will be calculated pro rata and therefore the subsidy will be less.

If the student is renting the accommodation with two other persons (therefore there are three persons sharing the accommodation) for at least €200 per month each (i.e. total rent is €600 or more), the student will receive the maximum of €100 per month for the months indicated above. If the student’s rent is less than €200 per month, the subsidy will be calculated pro rata and therefore the subsidy will be less.

If there are four or more people sharing the rented accommodation, then the student is not eligible  for this subsidy.
